Joseph D. Ort:

Joseph is a civil litigation attorney who concentrates his practice in the areas of commercial litigation, eminent domain, contract disputes, foreclosure, and general litigation. Joseph's commercial litigation experience includes representing various business owners, architects, engineers, contractors, title companies, mortgage companies, property owners, and government entities, on a wide variety of issues including breach of contract, shareholder disputes, foreclosures, contract negotiators and disputes, professional negligence, and insurance coverage litigation. In his eminent domain practice, Joseph has experience representing banks, commercial office buildings, home owners, hotels, landlords, tenants, and developers. Joseph also represented title companies and real estate brokerages on real estate disputes, and has experience representing governmental entities on utility issues.



Background

Joseph was raised in Winter Haven, Florida. He received a B.A. in Business Administration from the University of Florida, and a J.D. degree, cum laude, from Florida State University. Prior to founding Joseph D. Ort, P.L., Joseph worked for a large statewide multi-office law firm. He also served as a commissioned writer for the Florida Legislature.
